Job Summary: The Academic Advisor I is an entry level advising position. Under direct supervision, the Advisor I will be engaged in academic advising activities that support UA at the institution or college level.

Additional Department Summary: The Academic Advisor meets with undergraduate nursing students regarding their academic needs. Identifies students with significant financial need and challenges, and communicate needs to scholarship administrators. Plans and implements group advising for lower division nursing students each semester in collaboration with the director of the Undergraduate Program. Works with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some experience. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills. Effective computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database management, etc.). Good planning, coordinating, organizing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.
