Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to increase the University's transfer and graduate student population by focusing on prospective transfer student from the Lone Star College Cy-Fair and North Harris Community College campuses.
This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the onsite recruiter/primary point of contact for Lone Star System Cy-Fair and North Harris locations. Provide general information about the various academic programs offered at Prairie View A&M University and guide them through the admission process. Also serve as the on-site liaison between the University and the campus programs in establishing partnerships and agreements aimed at facilitating a streamlined pipeline between the two institutions. Implement recruitment and marketing strategies and targets targeted at increasing the number of students who express an interest,
    apply, and enroll at the University.
  • Provide comprehensive, one-stop shop style advisement for prospective students regarding transcript evaluation, scholarships, financial aid, degree programs, support services, student life, etc. Also, assist the Transfer Articulation Coordinator with articulation agreements and transfer course evaluation.
  • Maintain an up-to date database of students who express an interest in applying to Prairie View A&M University. Track prospective students status
    in the admission process. Make frequent contacts with prospective students to answer questions, provide additional information, and encourage
    enrollment.
  • Other duties as assigned, including participating in on-campus transfer events, orientations, other recruitment sites as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in applicable field.
  • One year of related experience in advising and recruiting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of student information systems, degree planning, and degree audits.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
