The Assistant General Manager for ARVA Italian Restaurant with F&B 575 will oversee and maintain an efficient operation of the department and exceed guests’ expectations with quality of the product and service. The Assistant General Manager of ARVA will ensure all policies & procedures are effectively maintained at an optimum level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Organize greeting, seating and exiting of all guests using a professional demeanor

• Train, evaluate and schedule all restaurant staff

• Perform administrative duties such as, but not limited to, scheduling, payroll, and inventory

• Inspect all areas of the restaurant to ensure standards of service are maintained

• Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements

• Enforce established guidelines and policies of the company

• Uphold DOH standards

• Implement new menus and promotions such as holiday and special event promotions

• Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations

• Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction, and information as requested when working in public areas.

• Provide leadership and support for all F&B staff

• Lead by example; coach and mentor individual team members to develop their skills and maximize performance

• Support the Restaurant Floor Managers in implementing and/or following of department procedures

• Attend all meetings and assigned trainings

• Chair daily departmental pre-shifts and meetings

• Communicate all guest information/changes to existing information to appropriate hotel colleagues in an accurate and timely manner

• Maintain an active trace system for guest history on their F&B preferences

• Additional duties include but are not limited to:

o Assign group deliveries and special events to departmental management staff

o Attend all daily, weekly, monthly hotel and food & beverage meetings

o Revise standard and procedures for department, as necessary

o Assist in computing and sending daily reports

o Analyze business activity and compile statistics/reports as required

o Greet all guests, colleagues and clients in a professional and friendly manner

o Handle all enquiries and bookings for the restaurant in an efficient manner in order to maximize sales

o Prepare and print menus as required

o Ensure promotions are communicated correctly to team members, suppliers, guests and clients

o Motivate and be proactive in encouraging team commitment and spirit

o Ensure appearance of team members is according to company grooming standards

o Share ideas, best practices and problems with the team and encourage their input in helping make decisions where possible

• Perform a variety of other duties as assigned by hotel management

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar role in restaurants or food and beverage

• Positive, engaging, and energetic personality

• Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision

• Very high attention to detail and extensive service knowledge

• Must have good knowledge of food preparation, wine, and spirits

• Sensitive to cultural nuances

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English

• Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment

• Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders

• Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Multi-lingual is a plus

• TIPS, ServSafe certified

• Department of Health and Hygiene certified
