Pay: $150,000-$165,000 annually

Summary

Provides leadership and oversees product management process from concept to introduction/roll-out. Responsible to ensure that all steps in the process of bringing BI products and services to the marketplace are properly managed according to plan and that products are delivered according to required specifications. Serves as the key focal point for addressing on-going product performance and driving continued value-added capabilities for long-term product and services viability.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the Product Management team responsible for product innovation, development and ongoing support.
  • Provides vision for product and services roadmap based on market requirements
  • Provides business justification and return on investment on development projects for new product introductions, existing product enhancements and derivatives, and cost reduction efforts
  • Provides insight and assistance for “build/buy/partner” strategy and interacts with corporate development and finance team as appropriate.
  • Develops and implements product strategy in collaboration with the functional teams
  • Works with corporate development to identify international opportunities
  • Provides oversight and recommendations to comply with import/export requirement
  • Manages the full product life cycle from gathering market requirements to end of life products working in conjunction with functional teams.
  • Writes marketing requirements, creates launch materials, creates positioning materials/statements, organizes, and manages customer beta sites.
  • Provides insight to strategic direction based on the analysis of market and industry trends to identify revenue generating opportunities for current and future products and services.
  • Work effectively in a matrixed environment cross-functional teams focused on the introduction, consideration and justification of technology products and services.
  • Works closely with the marketing department to develop promotional programs for new products/product enhancements according to target market plans including profitability.
  • Works with development departments to convert marketing requirements into engineering requirements.
  • Participates in product development team meetings; reviews schedule and resolves market requirement conflicts.
  • Work with technical services and functional teams to ensure product and customer issues are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Monitors product performance, in partnership with Quality Manager, suggests corrective actions plans/teams to address issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical/Engineering, Business or Criminal Justice discipline.
  • At least ten years’ experience of product management or solutions/product experience with software and/or electronic equipment.
  • At least five years of management experience leading a product management team overseeing multiple high-tech product lines.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a suitability determination.
  • United States Citizenship required.
  • Must live in the United States 3 of the last 5 years (military and study abroad included).
  • Excellent leadership skills – coaching, developing, mentoring.
  • Experience with Fortune 500 or a top technology company is preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple major projects simultaneously, from conception through completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Ability to lead and effectively participate in cross-functional teams in a matrix management environment.
  • Experience with Agile methodology preferred.
