POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the District Manager, you will lead operational excellence in your assigned district to achieve financial and non-financial goals. You will lead Store Managers and Team Members at all levels to deliver a best-in-class experience for our customers. Building a high-performing team through targeted development of store management will be a critical focus to ensure the delivery of overarching and lasting results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Accountable to achieve financial operating plan to include controllable costs, sales projections, and operating profit for assigned district
  • Hold store managers to follow a labor budget specific to each store based on established labor model, sales history, and current trends
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports as required; analyzes the details to identify trends
  • Train and hold stores accountable to implement product launch plans in coordination with the marketing departments calendar; ensures set up is in accordance with plan-o-grams and merchandising requirements set by the company
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure that employees disciplinary action is fair and equitable, consistently administered, and all necessary progressive discipline documentation is completed prior to termination
  • Supervise the performance and development of managers by periodically providing feedback to improve performance levels; administers corrective action documentation as needed
  • Hold employees accountable to adhere to federal, state and local laws regarding alcohol and tobacco sales
  • Respond to customer complaints within 24 hours and completes investigation into incidents with a sense of urgency
  • Facilitate store walks each week to verify compliance with company procedures, store cleanliness and customer service levels; insists on high standards
  • Adhere to company safety and security practices at all times
  • Audit stores to assure proper ringing, reporting and accounting of all sales, including merchandise, gasoline, lottery, coupons, and gift cards on a weekly basis
  • Partner with maintenance department to ensure preventative maintenance program is in place at each store


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-4 years Background and experience in convenience stores and/or retail
  • Previous multi-site/unit oversight responsibilities preferred
  • Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office
  • PDI systems knowledge a plus
  • Must maintain a current, valid, unrestricted drivers license with an insurable driving record
  • Successful completion of age restricted alcohol and tobacco sales training


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job supervises store manager assigned within their district.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
