In this position, you will support the team which has responsibility for vehicle electronics programming, production testing systems, automation, and electromechanical system diagnostics and troubleshooting in our truck manufacturing plants. Mechatronics Manufacturing Engineering combines a diverse engineering background including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering with hands-on vehicle product knowledge and applied agile and waterfall project management. We are on the cutting edge of emerging; exciting technologies and this team will continue to drive DTNA’s success in launching the safest and most innovative vehicles in the industry.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Product owner of application used for vehicle electrical (VET) and dynamometer (Dyno) testing in manufacturing facilities, including agile management of development team.
  • Represent the team and manufacturing truck plants with applied project management skills working closely with the truck plants, application developers, Design Engineering, and suppliers to coordinate projects to completion.
  • Department lead for cyber security topics affecting manufacturing plants and processes.
  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate systems across the complete software and hardware design/development spectrum.
  • Identify production related design for manufacturing improvements ahead of implementation into the plants via concurrent engineering and the application of DFMA and ePOD (electronic Production Oriented Design) principles.
  • Manage manufacturing activities for new projects including scope definition, budget, development of new equipment and processes, training of manufacturing plant staff, trial builds, and product launch.
  • Provide engineering expertise and guidance on the specification, procurement, acquisition and development of manufacturing assembly and vehicle validation systems to ensure compliance with all government and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate efforts with external development suppliers and internal partners such as colleagues in Germany, Detroit, Mexico, and Japan.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree focused in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with 6 years of related experience or 10 years of related experience required.
  • One year of group or project lead experience required.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles with proven ability to apply technologies, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of vehicle electronic test systems or related engineered components.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills, especially cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Working knowledge in electrical hardware and software.
  • Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • English fluency.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing processes including electrical vehicles
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Scrum Master certification

Qualifikationen

Position offers a starting salary range of $110,500 - $141,500

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
