Inside the Role
In this position, you support the eMobility Group with expertise to managing all sales activities between DTNA and all electric truck customers, many of them being part of DTNA’s top customers. This includes responsibilities as an engineer, and as a trusted consultant to our valued customers and dealerships. Electric trucks are an emerging, exciting technology, and the right person will drive DTNA's success by helping our engineering department, customers and network adopt the new vehicles into their operations.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • This position provides opportunity and responsibilities to learn and teach as part of a global vehicle-charging team which includes experts in Germany, Japan, the US, and other locations.
  • Travel will be required to customer sites in the US on a regular basis as well as for occasional meetings overseas as part of the collaboration with members of the global team.
  • In the ever-evolving world of electric vehicles, you will also need to improve DTNA's competitive market position by keeping up to date with state-of-the-art ZEV (zero emission vehicle) technologies and relevant industry standards as well as developments in the energy industry.
  • It will also be critical to study eMobility topics outside your immediate responsibilities. This broad knowledge is critical for your interactions with customers, as you will be seen by many as an expert not only for ZEV, but an expert representative for the vehicle and e-mobility movement overall.

  • Work with the entire global Daimler Truck and Buses eMobility team to develop a comprehensive consulting service to support EV truck customers with purchase of electric vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the charging infrastructure consultants to help customers install and maintain a robust vehicle charging infrastructure that meets or exceeds the customer’s needs, on time, and on budget including incentives.
  • Maintain close collaboration with DTNAs sales team, including dealer and national accounts, and function as their technical backbone for eMobility.
  • Collaborate with account managers to create tailored electric mobility solutions for each customer.
  • Demonstrate value proposition of DTNA eTrucks in all aspects of the customer’s business.
  • Research, compile, analyze, prepare, and recommend courses of action to customers for deployment of electric trucks utilizing the latest TCO models, route analysis and available incentives.
  • Become an expert in electric truck use cases in order to advise customers on suitable courses of action. This includes TCO models, route analysis and the incentives landscape.
  • Provide responsive assistance to assigned groups and/ or customers.
  • Contribute to synergies and strategies within the electric mobility group between all regions around the globe.
  • Be part of a group of strong global collaborators and superior customer facing consultants.
  • Analyze economic and market data related to pricing, costing, sales, infrastructure, services and make/buy analysis for the company’s manufactured product line to facilitate sales. Advise fleet on electric truck services, and find a way to enhance their market position or profitability.
  • Facilitate activities with Engineering, Service Development, CAE, Plants, Ready Centers, Marketing, DTNA Components, and Quality Control to ensure e-mobility products are designed and created to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Ensure collaboration and consistency among internal departments to support the customer.
  • Assist in arranging special events between account and DTNA.
  • Broaden your expertise outside of your immediate responsibilities and become an expert in e-Mobility topics.
  • Working closely with product strategy team to continuously develop DTNAs eTruck offering and ensuring state of the art technology and services are developed.
  • Seamless collaboration with external incentive partners to provide a complete and holistic business proposal to customer

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college and prefer 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Sales required.
  • 2+ years of group lead, project lead, or mentoring experience required.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills required.
  • Have a good understanding of EV related products and services required.
  • Customer orientated with a real sense for the marketplace required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Moderate travel (~25%), especially initially required.
  • Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated required.
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change required.
  • Languages: English (fluent) required.
  • An attached resume required.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Degree focus in Business, Engineering or Sustainability preferred
  • Strong technical proficiency with DTNA products with a focus on electrical preferred.
  • Must be well-organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks, and work professionally with various levels of DTNA management preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements preferred.
  • Experience working in various Daimler Trucks organizations preferred.
  • Enthusiastic about being at the forefront of customer value driven eMobility preferred.
  • Languages: German (Intermediate) preferred; additional language(s) preferred.

Schedule Type:

  • @hybrid: Number of days at home and at the office will be determined through an ongoing conversation with your Manager. DTNA will ensure that your WFH set-up meets wi-fi / data minimum requirements and sets you up for success. Travel to the office is not reimbursed and employee must live close enough to attend regular in-person collaborative meeting with at least 24-hour notice.

Qualifikationen

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500.00-$126,000.00

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience
