Sinton Instruments is a small, well established and tightly knit renewable energy company with an opening for an entry level engineering technician who wants to assist in the process of building quality, small batch products. We are an innovative, market leading company who designs, manufactures, and supports test and measurement equipment for silicon solar cell design and production with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Our equipment is used worldwide in universities, research centers, and manufacturing plants.

About the position:

An ideal candidate is detail oriented and organized. This role will focus on supporting engineering staff with small batch product assembly and the various setup tasks associated with our products.

The technician’s duties will include working with engineering drawings, BOMs and standard operating procedures (SOP) for completing the builds.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of electronic assembly experience (not required)
  • Extremely organized with a great attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized work environment and appearance
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint) helpful

Responsibilities

  • Technician will primarily be responsible for the assembly of Sinton Instruments test and measurement equipment
  • Technician will prepare and assemble items based on dimensional drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Technician will solder, crimp and use small hand tools for mechanical assembly of metal enclosures, PCBs, etc.
  • Technician will perform inspection of raw materials and report all defects, errors and non-compliances to engineering team
  • Technician will report feedback while assembling products with respect to assembly efficiency and possible design improvements
  • Technician will work directly with engineering, operations, and sales to ensure on-time delivery of builds
  • Technician will assist in maintaining inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels and report low levels to purchasing
  • Technician will document daily manufacturing and quality metrics as assigned
  • Technician will maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $20-25/hour depending on qualifications
  • Annual bonus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
