Job Title: Equipment Operator

Reports To: Material Preparation Foreman

Department: Production

Location: Winnemucca, NV

Position Summary

This position is responsible for preparing materials for the next phase of the process. This includes sawing material to length, drilling holes, forming plate, and beveling as required. When the material is ready for the next stage it must be labelled and prepared for movement to the next area, crop pieces will need to be labelled and prepared to return to the yard, and scrap pieces must be relocated to the scrap bin.

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain equipment as need and per the maintenance schedule.
• Perform all duties with safety in mind.
• Know the quality standard of the job you are working on and meet it.
• Abide by company rules and procedures.
• Keep work area tidy.
• Manage consumable usage.
• Know the emergency procedures.
• Become task trained on all equipment operated, and all material handled.
• Maintain and own personal tools as required by the Tool List
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Level One Skills:

• Basic Blueprint Reading
• Marking and Labelling Parts
• Basic Measurements
• Ability to cut the correct quantity of the correct type of material
• Piece Marking with Proper Details
• Proper Use of Equipment
• Debur Parts
• Feed Rates per Material and Thickness
• Proficient in Operation of Band Saw, Iron Worker and Drill Press

Level Two Skills:

• Advanced Blueprint Reading and Understanding
• Measuring with a High Degree of Accuracy including Angles
• Basic Part Layout
• Understanding of Material and Equipment Capabilities
• Knowledge of Trim Allowances Required
• Proficient in Operation of Plate Roll, and SubArc

Level Three Skills:

• Advanced Knowledge of Part Layout
• Ability to Sharpen Drill Bits
• Die Spacing per Material Thickness
• Computer and Technological Skills for use of CNC Equipment
• Proficient in Operation of Press Brake
• Performs QA/QC Procedures
• Ability to Train and Lead Others

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform work following all required safety protocols including use of proper PPE for assigned tasks required.
• Knowledge of operating a forklift.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments while prioritizing workflow required.
• Ability to uphold all company policies required.
• Ability to work as a team to accomplish objectives.

Experience:

• press brake machine: 1 year (Preferred)
• band saw operating: 1 year (Preferred)
• drill press operating: 1 year (Preferred)

• Driver's License (Preferred)
