Summary

Financial Programs / Analytics Analyst Senior / Equity Plan Administrator / Senior Financial Analyst - Manages Company equity grants and related vesting, releases, cancellations, terminations, and monthly and quarterly reporting. Primary lead on participant experience communications and materials, including responding to questions on grants and transactions. Partner with Legal team in preparation of SEC filings and to facilitate stock transactions with the transfer agent. Collaborate with HR, Legal and accounting to ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures and accuracy of equity compensation data.

What your day would be like:

You are responsible for:

  • Participates and provides a variety of comprehensive analysis, solutions and support which may include design and development of business unit and cross-functional processes and reporting
  • Administration of company cash incentive plan, business operational metric and incentive reporting
  • Management and Board reporting, and leading work with other finance or business operations teams to support these efforts.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in business, finance, accounting economics, mathematics
  • AND five (5) years directly related experience in financial analysis, accounting, economic analysis or data analytics in any industry,
  • OR minimum five (5) years business operations related experience in the utility or energy services industry.
  • In lieu of degree, an equivalent combination of formal education and experience totally ten (10) years is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance and economic analysis, corporate finance, utility regulation, utility operations.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong research, data management and effective management communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and database tools (Power BI).


Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters degree preferred.
  • Strong experience with related analytical, financial, database, and/or business operations tools (i.e., Kyriba, Bloomberg, PeopleSoft, Cognos, PowerPlant, Hyperion, Maximo, supply chain and inventory systems).
  • Travel may be required.

Major Accountabilities

1) Lead or assist in the administration of Company cash and equity incentive plans by maintaining full knowledge of components, including reporting rules and requirements, software tools, participant experience, ownership requirements, and preparing ongoing analysis of related topics.
2) Provide support to business units leadership in the development and tracking of incentive and operational metrics, including ensuring the company is leveraging the appropriate tools to complete this work.
3) Identifies or partners with F&A and other business units to identify process improvements and automation, analyzing current process and incorporating lean principles and practices; Facilitates automation and reporting process improvement efforts.
4) Ensures compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation, files, records or systems.
5) Conducts and provides supports the enterprise business planning process, linkages to enterprise strategy and risk, and tiered metric and related driver metric visualization and reporting.
6) Provide support in the development, compilation, presentation and communication of performance report packages for management reporting, including identification of significant findings and conclusions through the use of existing technology and strong understanding of business unit financial and regulatory and operations related data.
7) Support Proxy reporting, including providing requested executive compensation data in adherence to SEC reporting rules and information presentation
8) Provide support and project management for projects requested by Finance leadership, including recommending and developing tactical and strategic opportunities
9) Develops comprehensive understanding of company, unit policies and procedures, accounting practices, and federal and state regulations.
10) Responsibilities may include supporting completion and submission of required external reporting and filings.

Flex Role:
This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

  • Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
