Job description

Roll for initiative and join our front-of-house team! The Cloak & Blaster, Florida's first tabletop tavern and retail shop since 2014, is hiring additional team members to work at our 12226 Corporate Blvd location, across from the University of Central Florida main campus. We are a hybrid restaurant and fast-casual tavern with a 700+ board game library, full whiskey cocktail menu, patio biergarten, and retail game store. Eligible candidates must have night and weekend availability between 2 p.m. - 12 a.m.

What You Will Do:

  • Excel in customer service in a confident and friendly manner.
  • Be attentive to our table flag system at the bar and throughout the dining room, and attend to the needs of our guests. Our bartenders don’t just stay behind the bar - they’re actively controlling the floor as part of the Front of House team.
  • Assist in taking orders and retail purchases from guests through our Toast POS.
  • ID customers for age verification to ensure safe alcohol practices.
  • Pour, measure, and mix drinks according to The Cloak Recipe Book.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of The Cloak cocktail and liquor menu, draft menu, eligible customizations, and out-of-stock offerings.
  • Manage on-hand inventory of liquor and bar items during shift.
  • Manage and utilize the draught system during shifts.
  • Recommend board game titles as requested, or refer guests to the Rules Lawyer on duty.
  • Answer questions about our board game library, retail merchandise, table payments, and company policies.
  • Assist in Front of House floor coverage with tables (self-seating) by delivering drink and food items, answering questions, and engaging with guests throughout your shift.
  • Buss tables and remove dirty plateware as needed.
  • Assist in daily and scheduled deep cleaning front-of-house duties in order to maintain a clean and consistent workspace.
  • Report to the GM for all responsibilities, questions, and concerns.

What You Will Have:

  • A talent (and tolerance) for customer service. (Previous customer service is highly preferred.)
  • A working knowledge of draught beer and standard cocktail ingredients. Must have at least six months of professional bartending experience.
  • An interest and working knowledge of board games, with preference for an ability to recommend playable titles from our game library.
  • Attentiveness to the bar and dining room floor, and an ability to balance attention equally among all guests.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with good time management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well as a team, and follow directions.
  • An understanding of Cloak company policies and memorization of The Cloak guidebooks.
  • Reliable transportation to report to shifts on time and as scheduled.
  • Weekend and evening availability (we are currently closed Mondays to promote work-life balance for our team.)
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 80 lbs.
  • TIPS Safe Alcohol Certification.
