Community Health Alliance is looking for a Healthy Pantry Coordinator that can take the Healthy Prescription Food Pantry program to the next level. The perfect candidate will be able to work independently, expand the volunteer program, train staff and collect data. We pride ourselves in providing the utmost respect and professionalism to those in the community we serve. Responsibilities include supply pick-up, unloading Northern Nevada Food Bank (NNFB) shipments twice a week, maintaining inventory and filling patient RX pantry orders. This position is rewarding but physically demanding. Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout the day.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic administrative and medical office functions
  • Knowledge of community medical providers and patient resources
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems; when applicable
  • Skill in operating a personal computer, utilizing word processing, excel, power point and outlook.
  • Skill in operating various office equipment, including copier, fax machine and telephone system
  • Skill in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to bend, reach overhead, pull, and push carts, food supplies, and other materials as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-60 pounds on a daily basis; reasonable accommodation will be made for physical limitations on an individual basis
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and fluently both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and troubleshooting solutions
  • Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and enhance teamwork within Community Health Alliance
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with internal and external customers
  • Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sexual orientation, etc.
  • Ability to learn e-Clinical Works and other software programs for data collection
  • Ability to listen and speak well enough to converse over telephone
  • Ability to see well enough to use computer efficiently and read computer reports and correspondence
  • Willingness to learn, understand and abide by Community Health Alliance policies and procedures Education and Experience: Preference of background in Community Health Science, Public Health and Communications. Will also consider recent graduates with similar experience gained through successful completion of internships.
