Independence Plus is rapidly expanding in all of our service areas and has an immediate opening for an experienced Medicare and Medicaid Biller. This is a full-time position, working out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office.

Primary responsibilities include:
- IL Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial insurance with an emphasis on Home Medical Equipment
- Daily review of EOB’s, processes rejections and denials to determine if claim needs to be re-submitted or submitted for an appeal
- Verify benefits for orders
- Review claims and mail or electronically submit, resubmit, and correct claims by utilizing the Medi system
- Maintain payer DSO goal at or below company standard
- Review all necessary medical information to recertify existing patients
- Process all Payer appeal requests within the required time frame
- Review AR Aging Report daily for collection of aging receivables, determination of whether an adjustment is supported, and documentation of work
- Research and medical criteria for coverage of equipment and supplies, quantity limitations, and requirements for submission
- Full cycle healthcare billing experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing, claims dispute resolution, prior authorization, and processing of batch work
- Knowledge of HCPCS, CPT and ICD-10 medical coding
- Proficient with Excel, Medi, Avality, Connex, E-Care, Passport; and Brightree experience a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task providing a large work volume with a high level of efficiency
- 1 - 3 years of billing experience and familiarity with referral authorizations and third-party healthcare billing procedures
