Position Responsibilities:
- Assists with on-the-job food service training of new associates; serves as a mentor for other food service associates and leads by example.
- Manages inventory for food service area; conducts monthly food service inventories.
- Places all product orders with vendors; ensures that food service items are received, code dated, and rotated in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Corrects items noted on the monthly Procheck food safety audits in a timely manner. Takes measures to ensure the items noted are not repeated in the future.
- Cooks food using a variety of equipment such as ovens, fryers and slicers.
- Takes food orders and prepares to customer’s specifications while ensuring fast, superior service.
- Ensures that food is prepared, served and stored in accordance with proper handling/sanitation procedures.
- Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the food service area; duties may include mopping floors, cleaning counters, sweeping floors and cleaning coolers, freezers, and equipment.
- Attends regularly scheduled food service leader meetings held by operations management.
- Operates Point-of-Sale system, accepts payments from guests and issues correct change.
- Ensures the accuracy of the starting bank, makes up the ending bank and prepares bank deposits.
- Corrects all voids and errors as they occur.
- Reconciles cash register tills against money and coupons received.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least one year of food service experience, preferably in a convenience store setting.
- Must be ServSafe certified.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, count money and recognize discrepancies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
