Job Description


Machine Cleaner

TOMRA North America, a top International Reverse Vending and Recycling Company, is recruiting for a Machine Cleaner to clean and maintain our reverse vending machines in the Worcester, MA area.

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Cleaner will be responsible for traveling to the sites where our reverse vending machines are located in order to perform cleaning processes. They will also be responsible for reporting the need for repairs and/or replacement of the mechanical and electrical components to the Service Supervisor or Customer Support Center. Since the Machine Cleaner will be at customer sites they will need to possess strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with all kinds of people.

Pay: $15.00 an hour Company car, gas card and phone are included

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine cleaning on reverse vending machines
  • Communicate any potential service needs to Service Supervisor or Customer Support Center
  • Record all work completed in IFS using either company issued laptop or smart phone
  • Complies with all safety requirements and reports any potential safety hazards to Service Supervisor
  • Ensures customers are greeted, assisted and thanked at all stops
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a clean and valid Driver License
  • Must be able to read a map/ use GPS system
  • Must be able to send and receive emails, attach and open files in Outlook
  • Must be able to work with software such as excel, word, outlook
  • Must be a proficient user of smart phones or other similar handheld devices. Need to be able to download and use common apps
  • Must be able to efficiently route himself in the State of Massachusetts
  • Be able to clean mechanical parts and perform minor repairs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • HS Diploma or equivalent. Relevant work experience can be substituted
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of electro-mechanical field service or equivalent is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate effectively with management, Customer Support Center, as well as various levels of Customers at remote sites.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to troubleshoot machinery using a logical approach to problem solving. Must be able to reflect and improve work quality based on feedback and process review investigations. Must be able to reference supporting Equipment Manuals; Training Course documents; Technical Memos to perform cleanings.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, sit, push, pull, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms; periodical use of a ladder for accessing top service panel of some RVM’s. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
