About Tieton Cider Works:
We are a locally owned hard cider company focusing of on farm-based ciders. Our history of farming in the Yakima Valley spans 4 generations. We take pride in making sure our people and land are taken care of.
Position Description:
Operates equipment and processes for the manufacture and packaging of hard ciders. Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate production records, and a clean organized work area. Responsible for accurately and consistently following established procedures and personal safety performance.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Job Requirements:
o Accurately understand and follow specific instructions in plant procedures and forms.
o Learns and follows plant safety procedures, uses appropriate personal protective safety equipment.
o Unloads, prepares, and handles packaging and finished goods.
o Operates assigned machines and equipment.
o Safely operate forklift to move products and equipment within plant.
o Follows plant storage and warehousing practices.
o Participate in and comprehend plant training for safety, quality, environmental, and operating procedures.
o Perform basic product quality testing.
o Perform minor equipment maintenance and calibrations as specified.
o Maintain safe, clean, organized work areas. Performs general cleaning activities.
o Identify and select specific materials from warehouse inventory.
o Fills various package sizes as needed by production planning.
o Prepares, packages, labels, and inspects final product for sale or use.
o Loads pallets with product and prepares for shipping.
o Provides assistance or acts as back up for shipping and maintenance personnel.
o Perform or participate in troubleshooting equipment and other production issues.
o Work and manage multiple priorities at the same time.
o Other duties as assigned by supervision.
o Regular, punctual attendance is required.
o Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends, sometimes on short notice.
- Education and Experience:
o Minimum high school graduate or GED required. Additional education preferred.
o Proficiency in spoken and written English language. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish abilities preferred).
o Aptitude for general mathematics including basic arithmetic.
o Prior forklift experience is required.
o Good mechanical skills
o Good equipment troubleshooting skills
- Physical Demands:
o Employee is required to talk and hear.
o Sit, stand, kneel, walk, and use hands and fingers.
o Correctable abilities for close and distant vision.
o Ability to lift 50lbs.
o Capable of climbing stairs and ladders.
- Work Environment:
o Alcohol manufacturing environment
o Position includes responsibilities indoors in enclosed buildings and outside, frequently moving between inside and out.
o Exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
o Noise level in work environment is usually moderate to loud.
o Subject to ambient weather, heat, cold, wet.
o Occasional special conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
