POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible to the Maintenance Manager for managing the site work order system by planning, scheduling, application of standards and coordinating services of planned maintenance and construction jobs to minimize costs and production downtime by the proper use of craft manpower, materials and services. Determine manpower required for construction, major maintenance, and routine maintenance projects to properly utilize the manning in assigned areas. Facility Planner will be responsible for the following systems at the facility (fire, water, emergency power, on and offsite warehouses, compressor room, and but not limited to HVAC/Heating systems). Facility planner will also be a backup to the plant production planner when needed. Plans major plant turnarounds and promotes planning and scheduling techniques for better understanding of Maintenance and Production Supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Analyze Maintenance and/or Engineering work requests, job orders and work releases, for clarity as to what is requested. May contact originator to clear up points in question. Work with user/customers to establish priorities.
• Visit job site. Plan Job. This includes consideration and written plan of the materials, special tools, craft sequence, and time required to perform the job. May review planned job with Maintenance Supervision.
• Responsible for the ordering and knowledge and whereabouts of the materials needed for his planned jobs. May also help expediting material for emergency work.
• Maintain records of, and use predetermined time values, engineering standards and work performance for developing repetitive jobs.
• Understand and take into consideration in job planning corporate safety policies.
• Initiate and conduct meetings with maintenance service and production personnel as required.
• Follow progress of selected jobs, seeking solutions to problem areas which delay work and seeking improvements on the scheduled activities, checking materials, etc.
• Develop conceptual cost estimates and project budgets
• Take corrective action for controllable problems, suggests safety practices, and evaluates data for improving maintenance costs.
• Issue and track POs for multiple vendors.
• To prepare job task descriptions and write ups for all repetitive work, including sketches of work methods and any special safety measures.
• Participates in root cause failure analyses and in corrective actions for bad actors.
• Responsible for the planning of maintenance activities during outages and as needed coordinate of execution during outages.
• Supports and implements continuous improvements to the maintenance work processes to enhance plant availability and reduce the plant repair factor.
• Manage offsite warehouse maintenance.
• Manage all site calibration and equipment.
• Manage fire, water, emergency power, on and off-site warehouses, compressor room, and but not limited to HVAC/Heating systems.
• Will act as a backup production planner.
• Satisfactorily perform other duties as assigned by management.
• All other duties as assigned.
