About The Job

We seek highly motivated, hardworking individuals for our Management Trainee (MT) program to start in our Bettendorf, IA location. The MT position is ideal for candidates seeking an entry-level opportunity in business management. The MT position is a full-time position starting at one of our regional offices with an option for promotion and future transfer to another Daily Express office location. We have offices in Carlisle, PA, Baltimore, MD, Jacksonville, FL, Davenport, IA, Oklahoma City, OK, and Houston, TX.

Training

Management Trainees work in an office setting and gain exposure to general operations, freight dispatch, and our business structure. Management Trainees receive hands-on training by shadowing experienced employees in various departments and job functions while learning all vital aspects of the business. During training, MTs can enhance existing talents while discovering and developing business skills. The training phase is typically 6-8 months in length with pay adjustment upon completion. At some point after training, MTs can expect to relocate to another Daily Express location. Some of the main aspects of the training program include:

A hands-on training rotation covering oversize load transportation, general operations, freight dispatch, customer service, oversize load permits, sales, driver relations, driver recruiting, maintenance, 3rd party logistics, and risk management.
A fast-paced casual office environment
Working with customers, drivers, and Daily Express team members
Extensive phone and email communication

Daily Express has a unique operation within the typical “24/7/365” supply chain and logistics industry. Our business hours are Monday – Friday, 8-5. We are closed on weekends and major holidays. Opportunities After Training

Management Trainees have an excellent opportunity to establish a career in business with Daily Express. This enables candidates to broaden their experience base and to take advantage of promotion opportunities and compensation reviews. Upon completion of training, there are various promotion and advancement opportunities, including positions like Freight Coordinator, Asst. Terminal Manager, Terminal Manager, Sales Manager, or department or project management.

Relocation

Many trainees start at a regional terminal office, progress through 6-8 months of training and work experience, and move to another office location to continue their career with Daily Express. Relocation may occur roughly 12 to 18 months but could happen sooner. All candidates must be willing to relocate to one of our six office locations to take advantage of promotional opportunities. Requirements

We are searching for candidates with business sense, customer service skills, and a strong work ethic. We require:

4-year degree in business or a related field
Customer service background or demonstrated skills
Basic PC skills, Microsoft Office
MUST be willing to relocate for promotional opportunities
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Pre-employment drug screen required
