The Role:
Moderna is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for a position in Technical Development High Throughput (TDHT) Production Operations, at the Moderna manufacturing site in Norwood, MA. This position is a Monday-Friday 11am-7pm shift position. The individual hired into this role will independently run a unit operation, following standard operating procedures. This individual is expected to be detail oriented and practice good lab habits, with a goal of manufacturing high quality DNA/RNA/LNPs. In addition to manufacturing, the individual will be responsible for communicating issues experienced while in the process of manufacturing their product. They are also expected to take the initiative to learn the science behind the process.

The MAI has a team mentality and respects the common work areas. They apply GXP to their daily work and help to maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace. This is achieved through active participation in departmental safety culture, 5S initiatives, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to quickly master new processes and the drive to be part of a dynamic, fast paced, and highly motivated team.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
Follow written procedures to manufacture of DNA/RNA/LNP.

Bring an eye for improvement to daily work to optimize a process or reduce errors

Communicate with team members when encountering issues during manufacturing.

Adhere to laboratory gowning procedures

Adhere to documented waste handling procedures to respect environmental regulations

Practice and promote safe work habits and adheres to safety procedures and guidelines

Requires BS in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or 2+ years’ experience in a biotechnology manufacturing/quality/development environment.

Experience operating instrumentation and integrated systems

Basic lab skills; documentation, pipetting, buffer preparation, weighing material in tared containers.

Value of scientific reasoning and respect of process; complete work thoroughly, track raw materials etc.

Responsibility to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Ability to manage day to day operations in a fast-paced environment

Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
