Assist patients with activities of daily living, assist the nursing staff with job duties as permitted and maintain a safe and clean environment under the directions and supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed practical nurse.High school diploma or G.E.D. required
Nursing Assistant course required after hire (if not previously completed)
(Nursing Assistant course not required for employees enrolled in an RN or LPN nursing program)
Prior nursing assistant experience preferred. Ability to follow orders and perform within functional limitations of job. Communication skills, listening abilities, ability to deal with stress, able to react to emergency and crisis situations, committed to quality of care.
Current BLS, Safe Crisis must be completed prior to end of orientation period
