Job Description: Operations Admin -Supervisor

General Summary:

Organization, scheduling, and completion of Dayton’s day to day inventory transactions including (but not limited to) vendor receiving, packaging, cycle counts, adjustments, customer shipping discrepancies, inventory movements, order pulling statistics. Position is responsible for filling in for all of Operations Admin Level 1 , Level 2, and Level 3 functions. Daily assistance to operations director(s) with ongoing projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervising an Operations Admin team in daily workflow and logistics processes.
  • Training contributors with safety policies and job duties. Also cross training contributors for better operational flexibility.
  • Attending company and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety/OSHA regulations.
  • Completing supervisory reports for work related accidents.
  • Analyzing and resolving work/employee problems.
  • Recommending and presenting personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • Completing daily paperwork as assigned.
  • Following all standards to ensure safety, quality, and delivery of products.
  • Using continuous philosophy to improve current standards.
  • Preparing annual employee performance reviews.
  • Oversite of all receiving transactions for this facility as well as assisting satellite facilities.
  • Oversite of all packaging transaction for this facility as well as assisting satellite facilities/
  • Oversite of all cycle count transactions for this facility as well as assisting satellite facilities.
  • Oversite of all shipping discrepancy transactions for this facility as well as assisting satellite facilities.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills are essential
  • Sound understanding of inventory movements
  • Ability to analyze transactions to determine probable cause of error
  • Daily decisions regarding inventory movements and/or adjustments
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Coordination within inventory control, purchasing, product management, customer service, warehouse personnel, and satellite operations to insure timely inventory transactions.
  • Produce monthly reporting statistics.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily task assignments for Level 1, 2, and 3.


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess strong accurate data entry and typing skills
  • Excel experience a plus
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills to determine root cause of inventory error.
  • Strong self-motivation


  • Minimum 5 years’ warehouse/logistics experience.
  • Minimum Associates Degree or High School Diploma plus equivalent work experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a proactive attitude.
  • A keen eye for detail and safety.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems as well as understanding and familiarity of automotive components preferably undercarriage components.
  • Highly organized.
  • Ability to devise an analytical approach to solving a business problem.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient in software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word.
