The Opportunity:
As an Operations Analyst, you’re passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need an experienced research analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) team, you’ll evaluate data assessment strategies such as statistical analysis, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning to deliver solutions.

You won’t go at it alone, you’ll work alongside clients and other top-notch operations research analysts and data scientists to conduct research, prepare graphs and charts, and analyze and interpret programmatic or cost data from across the combatant command such as personnel, operations, planning, logistics, and cost analyses. Once documented, you’ll develop briefings, documents, and real-time, live Advanced Analytics (Advana) pages to present results, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings to improve program efficiency. In this role, you’ll use your passion for analytics and statistics to devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques such as coding in Python and other languages to turn complex data sets into useful information via linear programming and data wrangling techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Use your operations research knowledge to develop technologies and concepts that advance Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages, including Python, C++, Java, or R

  • 3+ years of experience working with structured, unstructured, or semi-structured data and conducting analysis

  • Experience with data wrangling techniques to cleanse data for data science applications

  • Experience building statistical models and developing machine learning algorithms, including supervised, unsupervised, or reinforcement

  • Experience designing and executing machine learning models and applications

  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, testing, and version control

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility

  • Experience with distributed programming languages

  • Experience with data engineering and data science tools, including Databricks, ElasticSearch, Apache NiFi, or StreamSets

  • Experience with business intelligence tools, including Tableau or Qlik

  • Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, or data lake houses and cloud services, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Experience with enterprise DataOps, DevSecOps, and MLOps processes to operationalize and monitor data science models

  • Experience with decision models, wargaming, simulation, or resource allocation

  • Experience with data and information management

  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics

  • Command and General Staff College or Service equivalent certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
