POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision the Physical Therapist Aide supports our Physical Therapist with our specialty medical services. The Physical Therapist Aide overall responsibilities of rooming patients which includes some intake activities for the patient, supervise or coach patients on exercises during their appointment. Some administrative and supportive tasks are also required such as contacting patients, cleaning and setting up equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list, but rather to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) will be required to perform a variety of duties listed, including but not limited to:

• Prepare patient for physical therapy appointment, including but not limited to checking in patient, rooming patient, setting up treatment, etc
• Supports patient care by assisting Physical Therapist with a variety of tasks such as ensuring equipment/supplies/tools are readily accessible and available for use during appointment and for distribution to patient after appointment, monitoring/measuring patient mobility during appointment, etc
• Provides reassurance and excellent customer service to patients through Compassionate interactions and thorough and prompt follow up as requested
• Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements per NVIH procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Electronic Health Records experience required
• One (1) year experience as a medical assistant preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge in electronic patient scheduling. Understanding the amount of time required for specific appointments.
• Ability to learn and understand medical billing as pertains to essential functions, such as advising staff or patients regarding self-pay costs and ability to learn best practices, procedures and on-the-job training provided for aiding Physical Therapist
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively relate via the telephone and in-person to serve the needs of clinic patients/clients/visitors in a manner that is efficient and productive.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills with acute attention to detail with spatial awareness
• Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, protocols, and the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Proven ability to engage in team collaboration and demonstrates a caring and compassionate commitment to the patient and their unique circumstances.
• Reliable Transportation and ability to adhere to regular attendance.
