DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible to maintain the physical upkeep of the property as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Property Managers, to include inspecting the grounds, cleaning and odor control of trash areas, commons floor care, trash removal for vacated apartments, cleaning walkways, stairwells, mailbox areas as well as vacant apartment cleaning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily upkeep, including cleaning and removing trash, of common areas of the property including the leasing office, laundry rooms, restrooms and/or hallways.
  • Handle basic pool cleaning and alignment/cleaning of pool furniture and pool deck area.
  • Assist in the preparation of market ready units, including cleaning and removing trash from vacant apartments (trash outs) prior to make ready.
  • Monitor and assist in replacing common-area lighting.
  • Maintain and care for inventory of all property cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Operation and abide by and within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the job and/or assigned by supervisor.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Professional Requirements:

  • Three to six months of experience as a Porter/Groundskeeper in a residential, hospitality or similar industry preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand basic instructions verbally or in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and have good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work around chemical cleaning solutions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work both indoor and outdoor with low to moderate noise levels. Depending on assignment may be subject to the natural elements.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to see, talk, hear, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, walk, stand, and turn/twist.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Must have the ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp objects.
  • Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and/or cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to move/traverse, ascend/descend stairs in/around apartment homes and community.
  • Ability to work around chemical cleaning solutions.
