The Berg Group is seeking a Pre-Construction Coordinator to join our team in Chaska, MN! The Pre-Construction Coordinator provides the knowledge, skills, and experience required to assist the Pre-Construction and Estimating Departments. They are responsible for the production and gathering of project-related information and then tracking, filing, and distributing this information to all related parties using Berg's Customer Relationship Management platform. This position will be accountable for maintaining all construction information up to date, consistent, and organized in an orderly fashion for all others in the project team. This role is is responsible for establishing a professional work environment that includes fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication, facilitating problem-solving and minimizing and resolving conflicts.

The Preconstruction Coordinator will be joining the Berg Team that has been a respected leader in the commercial drywall industry for over 50 years. We are a growing company with offices in Chaska, MN, West Sacramento, CA, Carlsbad, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Bozeman, MT, and Naples, FL. Essential Functions

Preconstruction/Estimating/Sales

  • Manage new Leads & Opportunities in the Berg Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to ensure the team is aligned and focused on the right opportunities with our preferred clients on bid activity.
  • Analyze & Generate reports from the CRM for Biweekly internal meetings.
  • Proactively create internal meetings for the required parties to review & sign off on all PPCP related tasks.
  • Maintain consistency & accuracy of the data in Bergs CRM.
  • Document Control: receive, file, track and distribute all construction documents.
  • Assist Estimator with the coordination of the Preconstruction Meeting after project award.
  • Setup job in Plexxis and provide the accounting department with job Startup information.
  • Adheres to bid review process and makes necessary edits to bid documents as needed.
  • Professional approach to internal & external communications.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Participates in the development and execution of Berg’s strategic and business plan including the achievement of key objectives.
  • Establish and develop relationships with employees, including the company management team, as well as external partners and stakeholders.
  • Support and continuously improvement of Berg's high-performance culture.
  • Provide visionary leadership for new ideas and humbly welcomes ideas to innovate and better Berg from all levels of the organization.
  • Accurately track and document internal and external estimating and preconstruction meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High degree of financial acumen
  • Proven ability to communicate openly and have important conversations, both internal & external.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Basic presentation skills to represent information and updates in a group setting.
  • Ability to navigate and comprehend complex construction documents i.e., blueprints.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Problem solving mindset.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Degree, Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a Degree in Construction Management or similar or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in commercial construction (internships).
  • Base knowledge of document editing software i.e., BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat, Plan Grid, Plexxis.
  • Industry knowledge in Drywall, Steel Stud Metal Framing, Paint, or other product/service that is core to Berg’s offerings.
