We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. The right candidate will enjoy making a positive impact at our company, and will have excellent communication skills and prior experience with similar positions.

Purpose:

The Process Engineer supports the quality and productivity of the plant through process improvements, the generation of SOPs, root cause analysis, and other means to adjust and improve the process continually. The PE assists in prioritizing improvement initiatives and implements or coordinates implementation to generate better results in safety, uptime, speed, productivity, quality, and waste reduction. The PE drives the improvement of process flows, reducing operational expenses, installing a culture of continuous improvement, and increasing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assess current process capabilities and identify areas for improvement in quality and productivity

· Designing and testing process upgrades and new process systems.

· Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.

· Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues.

· Performing optimization tests and trials.

· Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality.

· Developing standardized operating instructions for the upgrades process.

· Analyze and challenge existing procedures throughout the plant using Lean concepts to make recommendations in support of the management of Production and Quality results. Work with operational management to integrate solutions.

· Track and trend data to uncover performance gaps. Identify and prioritize Continuous Improvement projects. Manage, coach and oversee Continuous Improvement projects.

· Provides guidance and support to operational management by identifying and supporting the implementation of progress opportunities, effectively adding in measurement methods, and reporting continuous improvement effectiveness.

Develops, implements, and improves manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, and work activities to meet and exceed the company's KPI objectives

Professional Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field

· Proven work experience as a process engineer

· Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures

· High-level knowledge of process engineering software systems

· Experience working with CAD and AutoCAD is a plus

· Advanced technical skills

· Analytical thinker

· Ability to project manage

· Minimum of 2-5 years manufacturing process improvement experience required

· BS in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is a plus

· Operations Management is a plus

· Lean, Six Sigma certification preferred

Technical Skills:

· Data analysis – collect, organize and interpret data

· Facilitation skills

· Experienced in SPC/DOE (statistical process control and design of experiments) is a plus

· Capacity to learn and understand how different variables (internal and external) impact the quality of the laminate flooring process and product

· Mechanical/electrical aptitude to effectively troubleshoot process issues

· Continuous Improvement training and experience

· Project management

· Trial management/execution

Linguistic Skills:

· Conversational in English

· Command of German is a plus

Mobility:

· Role based in United States (Barnwell, SC)

· Ability to travel internationally with 2-3 weeks notice

· Travel up to several weeks per year
