Product Writer

Super Bright LEDs is seeking a Product Writer to join its Web Content Department. Responsibilities include writing marketing copy to support our broad range of LED lighting solutions. The Product Writer will create compelling and grammatically clean long-form and short-form copy for a wide range of communication materials, including website product pages, product brochures, white papers, design guides, advertisements, e-mail messages, electronic newsletters, and other technical printed materials.

This is a full-time salaried position located in Earth City, MO working Monday-Friday. Local candidates to the St. Louis area (Missouri and Illinois) only please.

Responsibilities:

• Create digital copy for lighting products that is consistent within industry

• Translate technical product specifications into authoritative and feature-oriented copy that sells
• Write informational content related to lighting industry and products, including product descriptions and titles, specifications and features, category, and page descriptions
• Edit and approve daily general product copy to current directives
• Conduct research within the lighting industry and eCommerce, present findings and connect them to strategy
• Work collaboratively with Product Managers to turn complex, technical features, and benefits into simple selling points
• Work collaboratively with web content experts to execute strategy into content creation
• Proactively identify existing copy writing gaps, additional opportunities, and ways to improve copy
• Create digital copy that is SEO optimized, consistent in style and tone, and aligned with business objectives, brand, and marketing messaging
• Write clear translation briefs, explaining the objective and meaning of your copy to validate rationale internally and externally

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, marketing, or communications
• 2+ years of experience as a writer preferred
• Portfolio of work demonstrating keyword-rich, compelling, and unique writing samples for products or services
• Online research skills with the ability to follow and track relevant data
• Meticulous editing skills
• Exceptional strategic thinking skills and ability to apply to content writing
