The Programmer is to assist in supporting the enterprise resource applications and third party applications for Kilgore College. This position will assist in analyzing, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting web based portlets and applications programming interfaces for all the Enterprise Resource Planning applications and databases. And support integrations with third party applications.
Responsibilities:
• Assists in coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting portlets/customizations for use in the Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS) portal. • Assists in performing Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS) maintenance and upgrades. • Codes, tests, debugs, documents and supports efficient integrations between base ERP systems (Jenzabar EX, Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS), PowerFAIDS), as well as third party applications such as Blackboard, Content 7, Active Directory, WinPRISM, OCLC WMS, etc. • Assists in the data extract processes from legacy systems when needed. • Assists in diagnosing and resolving issues with ERP systems and/or integrations with third party applications. • Gathers report requirements, analyzes existing reports, and creates reports when required. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Two or more years programming experience supporting relational databases and SQL tools desired. Experience with an academic portal application preferred; Experience with Jenzabar EX/JICS ERP a plus. • Working knowledge of .NET programming languages including C#, web tools, scripting languages (including T-SQL & Power Shell), database design, and application/systems integration development (API). • Scripting experience with PowerShell. • Web programming tools (e.g. HTML, CSS, ASP.NET and Javascript) experience. • Ability to estimate time requirements for tasks and to deliver results as scheduled. • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills. • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make sound decisions. • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
The twelve-month salary range is $44,490- $47,107. Health, life, and income protection insurance are provided. An excellent retirement program through the Teacher Retirement System and generous paid leave time are also furnished. In addition, full-time employees have free use of the college’s recreational/fitness facilities and tuition scholarships are available for the employee and dependent children. Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees/retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws.
