Title: Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

Job Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for development and submission of detailed and accurate estimates and required deliverables as well as overall management of the project, including planning and scheduling activities, procurement of materials and subcontractors, oversight and coordination of subcontractors, cost control, and contract administration. Assistant Project Managers/Estimators are actively involved in pre-construction activities, so the ideal candidate will have experience throughout the entire project cycle, including estimating experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review contract documents and requirements
  • Attend pre-bid meetings
  • Perform material and labor take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation
  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes and evaluate for completeness and best price for use in bid
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and complete prior to deadlines
  • Understand all scopes of work, anticipate constructability, timing issues and develop potential solutions as needed
  • Distribute qualification documents as required for the bid (MBE, WBE, experience, key individuals, etc.)
  • Review plans and specifications
  • Have knowledge of construction codes
  • Understand project plans and submittals
  • Obtain permits as required and follow all government guidelines for each permit and project
  • Work with director of operations and field foreman to manage construction schedules
  • Coordinate and manage the schedule and all project activities
  • Perform buyout, submittal process, quality control, safety compliance, scheduling, and closeout successfully.
  • Prepare schedules, cost reports, project accounting, estimates, document control and RFI/shop drawing logs.
  • Expedite the site delivery of materials and labor.
  • Interact with subcontractors and vendors to address construction issues.
  • Assemble closeout documentation in accordance with contract requirements.
  • All other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of applicable construction estimating and management experience
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
  • Familiarity with Contracts and Subcontractor Agreements
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ensure compliance to all safety procedures and policies
  • Organizational skills
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
