We are looking for a Quality Control Associate (Entry Level) to work for one of our clients in Vernon, CA who specializes in the meat manufacturing industry. This position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sanitation and processing crews, as well as all QA for processing. This individual will develop and maintain systems to ensure compliance with all Food Safety Standards and will be responsible for all Document Control and Records. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership with an emphasis on continuous process improvement and product quality.

The essential functions include:

· Adhere to all safety defense and compliance requirements.

· Ability to interact professionally with USDA Inspectors and Senior Management.

· Able to participate and lead the group in following production procedures and disciplines.

· Operate within established HACCP, SSOP, and GMP guidelines.

· Maintain production and QC Logs

· Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, computer, printer, labeler, communicate via company email, and other equipment (as required).

· Maintain clean and organized work areas.

· Inspect equipment to ensure sanitation prior to daily production.

· Validate all packaging and labeling of finished food products.

· Ensure proper security of meat and by-products, reporting any mishandled product.

· Ensure accuracy of all production orders, audited for packaging, product state and presentation, package integrity, weight and pack/portion validation, and regulatory markings.

· Verify all negative lab results prior to product release, assuring all presumptions remain on hold.

· Attend and participate in Employee Safety and Food Safety meetings.

· Assist in the Food Safety training and guidance of all Production and processing clerks.

· Maintains integrity and reliability in all communications with Senior Management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Ability to comprehend USDA Grading principles.

· Basic knowledge of Food Safety or hygiene

· English (reading, writing, and speaking desired)

· Strong attention to detail

· Clear understanding of OSHA Safety Requirements

· Must have a strong ability to multi-task, stay organized and think on their feet.

· Good project management skills.

· Walking and standing up to 8 hours/shift

Work Environment

The work environment may be subject to climate conditions. The environment may be wet and can consist of temperature extremes (28-33 degrees), excessive noise levels, and room temp office settings. Employees will be required to adhere to general safety and food safety protocols which may include wearing smocks, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and will be required to consistently practice the washing of hands. Attention to surroundings is crucial as it is a very busy production/manufacturing environment with a lot of forklift traffic in the production line room. Safety training is provided.

Education, Experience & Certificates

· High School Education, GED, or Equivalent.

· Compatible work experience.

· Job-related certificate experience.

· HACCP Certified is a plus but not required.

Compensation/Salary:

$17-$20 Hour- DOE
