Raytheon Intelligence and Space is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to function as a key contributor for our Product Support Engineering team performing technically challenging assignments.

As a member of the Product Support Engineering team, you will develop solutions and create holistic security solutions leveraging multiple disciplines like Anti-Tamper (AT), Software Assurance, and Supply Chain Risk Management to support Program Protection Implementation on embedded weapons systems.

Position Location - China Lake, Ridgecrest, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.
  • Define security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software component.
  • Understand and integrate cybersecurity development activities.
  • Support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations.
  • Perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results.
  • Conduct cybersecurity audits to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance of the security posture.
  • Conduct technical and nontechnical trade studies.
  • Understand, and ensure compliance with, DoD technology release and export licensing policies.

Experience and Skills:

  • 5 progressive years of experience with security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand-alone and in LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer subject matter experienced professional.
  • Familiar with NIST Risk management Framework (RMF), as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37.
  • Familiar with Program Protection Plan (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39.

Certifications: DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies.
  • Experience with IT and/or network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account administration best practices for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and CISCO Systems.
  • Experience with usage of information security toolsets including anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/ NIDS. host-based or endpoint security solutions, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing resources.
  • Experience with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test resources, e.g., Retina, NMap, Nessus, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
  • Experience with Python scripting and Linux Bash.

U.S. Citizenship required, as the applicant must have an Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance, day one of employment, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Education:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
