CHANEL is looking for a Senior Manager of Merchandising to join our Retail Store Environment Team in New York. Reporting to the Group Director of Retail Store Environment Strategy, you will play a leading role in the ongoing support of our in-store experience across multi-brand retail and owned channels, overseeing our merchandising strategy & implementation. This role interfaces with both local and global teams and is a key partner for our U.S. Field Sales organization. Our ideal candidate will have 6 years of experience and a passion for project management and the in-store selling experience.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee our ONGOING PERMANENT MERCHANDISING needs for the U.S. Market
    • Adapt global guidelines for permanent merchandising to local market, creating trainings, guides and best practices in partnership with Display team
    • Responsible for full-year merchandising forecasts, allocations and budgets to achieve success across campaigns and CapEx initiatives
    • For all campaign launches, partner with local marketing and global MPOS to achieve roll-out success
    • For new doors/renovations, assist with design and implementation process
  • Manage all U.S. MERCHANDISING INITIATIVES from conception to roll-out:
    • Work with Group Director to manage 3-year plan including strategy, budget, and implementation plans
    • Lead projects to consistently meet deliverables dates; review project tasks and pull in key teams as needed through-out the process
    • Set detailed, timetables considering briefs, floorplan, design approvals, development, and partner with Sales Operations on installation schedules
  • Manage PERMANENT MERCHANDISING BUDGETS for Collateral, Upgrades, and Retrofit Projects - Budget forecasting, Invoice management and actualization
  • Oversee DISPLAY MERCHANDISING TEAM, acting as manager to 2 direct reports.

What you will bring to the team...
  • Experience with in-store execution, knowledge of planograms and creating visual standards + implementation experience
  • Solid knowledge of standard project management tools and methodologies including project definition and scheduling
  • Strong passion for in-store client experience and understanding of visual principles
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills to deliver against varying deadlines
  • Learning agility and ability to creatively problem-solve in a fast-paced environment; ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Ability to process information quickly in order to determine best course of action
  • Strong computer skills: all Microsoft Office programs a must; Smartsheet a plus

Position Logistics:
  • 6+ years of experience in point-of-sale merchandising, with project management experience; managing multiple projects different scope and size
  • 2+ years of direct team management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to travel 20-30%

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $77,200 through $120,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
