Summary

Teledyne Controls is seeking a Customer focused Wireless Solutions Senior Product Line Manager to lead the evolution, deployment, and market penetration of our innovative wireless aircraft connectivity solutions. This Senior Product Line position is responsible for leading all aspects of product and customer deployment activities and execution of the product lifecycle including definition of the product vision and roadmap, development, market penetration, and customer deployment. Key tasks include leading programmatic and deployment activities with airline customers and working with Teledyne internal organizations to evolve the baseline product based on market needs, implementation of product enhancements and features, and ensuring efficient product market penetration. Extensive interaction with airline customers ensuring successful deployment is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Work with customers to manage the implementation of aircraft connectivity solution deployments.
  • Refine the aircraft connectivity product vision and define the product roadmap based on internal, customer, and market inputs in conjunction with Business Development.
  • Work with internal Sales and Marketing organizations to define the aircraft connectivity product communication and market penetration strategy.
  • Support internal Sales organization with customer interaction as the aircraft connectivity product subject matter expert.
  • Plan, direct, control and coordinate financial as well as engineering activities for the program(s), to achieve financial and technical objectives.
  • Monitor program activities from project initiation through delivery, interfacing with the customer on technical and deployment matters.
  • Organize interdepartmental activities to ensure completion of projects on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Ensure that departments within the organization reach goals within budget and a high level of quality.
  • Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
  • Confer with department supervisors or leads to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Prepare and present budgetary recommendations.
  • Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at various management levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific project/schedules.
  • Build and lead high performing teams.
  • Interact regularly with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and minimum of five years of directly related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with internal organizations (Business Development, Sales, etc) to develop aircraft connectivity solutions strategy is preferred.
  • Experience working with internal organizations and aviation customers for the development of aircraft connectivity solutions is preferred.
  • Experience working with Business Development and Sales organizations to develop aircraft connectivity communications and marketing strategies is preferred.
  • Established background in launching aircraft connectivity and information management solutions and services and high degree of proficiency in iterative development and understanding of Agile principles is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Technical Product Strategy, Program Management, or Brand Management experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to build high performing teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset.
