Job Summary: The Sunday Basketball Coordinator is responsible for managing the game day operations for the Youth Sunday Basketball League across all league facilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Game day supervisor for all Sunday Youth Basketball League games
• Attend and participate in coaches meeting
• Serve as liaison to all officials
• Compile and submit accurate program records including accident/incident reports, scoresheets, and standings to the Recreation Supervisor
• Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
• Obey and enforce the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
• Promptly respond to all unsafe actions, practices or conditions and report them to the Recreation Supervisor
• Create a safe, engaging environment through the framework of basketball games
• Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
• Ensure proper setup and closing procedures of each Saturday Basketball League facility before and after games
• Oversee first aid station during practice and games
• Positively interact with youth, coaches, parents/guardians and team members
• Communicate with league participants, parents, coaches, officials, and other Park District staff, supervisors and team leaders as needed

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• At least one year of experience playing or coaching basketball

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to run back and forth on the length of a basketball court
• Ability to lift 50 pounds for a distance of 25 yards

Required Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

• Valid Illinois Drivers license
• First Aid Certification
