BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The position of Inventory Supervisor supervises and leads Inventory associates to achieve department goals. Assists in the professional development of the associates to contribute to company success.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Inventory associates – provide tools to allow associates to succeed.
  • Key areas of responsibility include, but not limited to, Cycle Counts, Bin Checks, Bin Maintenance/Slotting, Bin Aging, Adjustment / Verification Reviews, Donations, Sets & Regrades.
  • Assigns work to associates and makes adjustments, as needed, to meet business demands.
  • Reviews in-process and completed work to ensure quality.
  • Maintains RE Tracker and ProTrack to track associate performance.
  • Coordinates activities for internal and external audits.
  • Tracks cycle count progress to meet monthly, annual and semi-annual requirements.
  • Looks for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintains a presence on the warehouse floor to work with associates.
  • Works with leadership to develop best practices and execute the plan.
  • Promotes safe work practices.
  • Supports associate involvement in safety through team engagement in the Safety Culture.
  • Actively engages in continuous improvement efforts within the department using assessment tools to mitigate risk.
  • Delegates to/through Work Team Coach to ensure a smooth process flow.
  • Performs all duties inherit in the role of MSC Supervisor as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates.
  • Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.<

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum two years Inventory experience in a DC/FC.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Outlook, Excel, and Word experience required.
  • ERP/WMS experience required. AS400 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of general warehouse practices required.
  • Continuous improvement experience related to the job.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including up to 5% travel.
  • Position may require a valid states driver’s license.
  • Lifting items between 25 and 50 pounds may be required.
  • May be required to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT).
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
