POSITION TITLE: Supervisor, Risk Management

DEPARTMENT: Finance-Risk Management

GRADE/FLSA STATUS: S16--Exempt

REPORTS TO: Regional Manager, Risk Control

BADGE TYPE/COLOR: Key- Blue

SUPERVISES: First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician—EMT

JOB SUMMARY:

Investigate all employee and customer injuries. Assist in ensuring that all OSHA requirements are met, and documentation is maintained. Assist Risk Control Manager in implementing specific safety training of all employees on property. Coordinates OSHA required training of all employees throughout the casino and hotel.

Supervises First Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians-EMT at HCCR property. Act as a liaison between the Regional Risk Control Manager, Regional Risk Management Claims Administrator, and various department supervisors and managers. Reports directly to the Regional Risk Control Manager any violations, communications, and hazards. Assists the Regional Risk Control Manager in the operation of the Risk Management department to insure a safe and secure environment within the casino for guests and employees.

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values

Ø Report directly to the Regional Risk Control Manager any violations, communications, and hazards

Ø Assist the Risk Manager in the operation of the Risk Management department to ensure a safe and secure environment within the casino for guests and employees

Ø Responsible for the supervision of EMT and First Responder

Ø Responsible for providing basic first aid, when needed, as well as protection for the safety and assets of guests and/or employees and the company

Ø Responsible for arranging transport and providing first aid/basic lifesaving treatment to guests and employees, when necessary, within limits of certification

Ø Responsible for safety patrols and immediately reporting unsafe conditions

Ø Responsible for detailed and accurate report documentation, evidence collection and reviewing EMT/medical reports

Ø Process, investigate and coordinate all fact-finding activities and submissions of employee injuries, customer injury or loss, and all property damage and loss incidents

Ø Responsible for the administration of worker’s compensation program, guest claims including general liability claims management

Ø Provide property leaders at all levels assistance to provide a safe and productive environment for associates

Ø Direct the development and implementation of Safety Promotions, Light Duty Programs, and the property’s Inspection Program

Ø Provide customer contact and follow up for all general liability claims

Ø Ensure all drivers of company vehicles are properly licensed and have good driving records

Ø Act as a liaison with Health Inspectors, Fire Marshals, Insurance Representatives in matters concerning safety of the public and company employees

Ø Represent Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort to external organizations, peers, and employees when necessary

Ø Conduct safety action team meetings and be responsible for recording and transcribing minutes of the meetings

Ø Follow up on corrective actions recommended by the safety action team

Ø Ensure compliance with all federal /state laws

Ø Ensure OSHA compliance with legislated mandates as they relate to workplace safety

Ø Additional duties in Risk Management as required by Regional Risk Control Manger

Ø Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions

Ø Exhibit sound decision-making with emphasis on motivating team and maintaining high morale

Ø Train subordinates, providing each with the knowledge, development, and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities

Ø Provide continuous positive coaching for development of employees and appropriate corrective action when necessary

Ø Responsible for, or actively participates in, the initiation of personnel actions including but not limited to interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions

Ø Proactive with incidents and issues ensuring resolution with employees

Ø Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work history entries

Ø Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø High school diploma or GED required

Ø BSBA in a related field from an accredited educational institution with a concentration in Risk Management, Business Administration/Finance, or related field preferred

Ø One years’ experience as EMT, EMT-A, Paramedic or Other Higher Medical background required

Ø One year experience in a supervisory capacity preferred

Ø Six months to one year experience in Operations, Security, Risk Management, or Customer Relations preferred

Ø Multi-Lingual a plus (Spanish,) preferred

Ø CPR/AED certification required

Ø EMT, EMT-A, Paramedic, or higher-level medical certification required

Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

Ø Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Ø Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
