The Beaver County Humane Society, located in Center Township, PA, is currently seeking a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to assist in all duties relating to the medical care of animals in the shelter as directed by the veterinarian. Full-time position.

The successful candidate will be able to administer vaccinations and medication, draw blood, perform general physical examinations on all animals entering the facility, perform IM and SC injections. CVT candidates will be able to perform euthanasia, give IV injections, place IV catheters, and intubate surgical patients.

Candidate must have knowledge of general anesthesia techniques and safety, animal handling and restraint and strong knowledge of surgery and recovery. This position will require general cleaning, autoclaving, and wrapping instruments and packs. Provide patient care to all species presented, in accordance with organizational procedures and resources. All candidates must have basic computer skills.

CVT with experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Non CVT candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the veterinary field. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings (until 7pm), weekends and holidays is a must.

Wage: $16.00 – $20.00 – Dependent upon experience and credentials. Amazing benefits package for full-time employment includes vacation and sick time, 100% medical/dental/eye covered by employer and more.

Hours: 40 hours per week, schedule will vary, based on a fluctuating workload and organizational requirements. The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
