Adventure Summary

The Vice President of Brand Management at Brownells plays a crucial role in the company's success, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. This position involves spearheading the development and execution of brand marketing strategies that enhance business growth and customer engagement, while managing a team of marketing professionals.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a passion for building brand equity and a proven track record of delivering results through innovative and integrated marketing campaigns. Additionally, they must possess a keen understanding of consumer behavior and market trends to inform and optimize marketing initiatives.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Brand Management must work closely with eCommerce marketing teams and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment of brand messaging and strategy across all channels. They must also drive top and bottom-line growth through effective management of the brand P&L, identifying opportunities for growth, differentiation, and expansion into new markets.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate their team while influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. What You Will Do

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute brand marketing strategies that align with overall business objectives and drive revenue growth
  • Manage the brand P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking performance against targets
  • Drive consumer insights efforts to better understand customer needs, preferences, and behaviors, and use these insights to inform marketing strategies and tactics
  • Analyze market trends and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth, differentiation, and white space expansion
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that leverage multiple channels, including digital, social, email, PR, and events
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive public relations strategy that effectively positions the Brownells brand and products in the media, drives positive coverage and brand awareness, and manages crisis communications when necessary
  • Drive innovation and creativity in marketing campaigns, ensuring the brand stays relevant and engaging to customers
  • Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic guidance and direction to the business
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of brand messaging and strategy across all channels
  • Oversee project management efforts to ensure all marketing initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality
  • Partner with the product team to ensure all new product launches are supported by strong marketing campaigns that drive customer adoption and sales
  • Manage the creative services team, overseeing the development of all creative assets, including design, copy, and video content
  • Build and manage a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including agencies, vendors, and media partners, to ensure high-quality execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging marketing technologies to ensure the brand remains innovative and competitive in the marketplace

What You Will Need

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in brand management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand marketing strategies that drive revenue growth

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience managing a brand P&L, with a solid understanding of financial metrics and analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market trends and customer data to drive business decisions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take risks and drive innovation
  • Passion for the shooting sports and firearms industry a plus

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
