VPK ELIGIBILITY SPECIALIST

Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County is seeking a VPK Eligibility Specialist.

The VPK Eligibility Specialist is responsible for eligibility determination, reenrollment determinationand provider enrollment for the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) online registration system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include:

• Responsible for determining eligibility with all required documentation through the VPK online registration system
• Responsible for determining eligibility with all required documentation for re-enrollment through the VPK online system
• Responsible for determining eligilbity for postponed enrollment
• Responsible for processing child enrollments through the Provider Portal online system including document libraries
• Maintains case records, both computerized and hard copy, on all clients, provider, and maintains files and case notes in a pre-determined format
• Coordinates client eligibility with parents and childcare providers as based on State, Federal and Early Learning Coalition guidelines
• Ensures parents and providers understand rules regarding eligibility for services
• Answer telephones and provide appropriate assistance to callers, including retrieving calls from the VPK voice mail
• Provide technical support and assistance to families/providers with using online registration via computer kiosks and telephone.
• Attend VPK and CCR&R community outreach and training events as needed
• Provide backup support to Wait List and CCR&R duties as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements include:

• High school diploma plus five (5) years or more of direct related experience.
• Social Services experience or Associate’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of customer service related experience
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Access to reliable transportation
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred

• Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and skill levels
• Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to move quickly from one task to another as needs dictate, and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines

Salary: $34,000 - $48,000

Hours: Normal Coalition Business Hours are Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm. 40 Hours per week

Some travel may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
