SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to the Value Stream Support Manager or VSSM. Responsible for a broad range of duties related to inventory management and the oversight of products and materials. Must be able to perform all duties in a timely manner while following all safety rules. Must work cross functionally with factory leadership team to enable materials flows in and out of the production process. May be assigned other duties.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

  • Obey GMP’s and PPE’s for production areas.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating with other staff members to ensure that orders are placed on time, materials are delivered on time, and materials are stored properly
  • Reviewing material status, tempering, new ingredients, etc. to determine which products will be used in production runs
  • Monitoring material inventories to ensure that the correct quantity of materials are on hand at all times
  • Checking incoming materials for any defects or flaws that may need to be addressed prior to use in manufacturing
  • Coordinating with suppliers to arrange for delivery of raw materials or finished products
  • Coordinating with shipping departments to arrange for delivery of materials to customers
  • Must be capable of handling material up to 40 LBS without assistance
  • Cycle counts and end of year physical inventory
  • Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts, or injuries to factory leadership
  • Coordinate various outbound shipments related to vendors/production (i.e., Scrap processor, returnable containers, materials for out of house tryouts)
  • Transfer raw materials to the warehouse
  • Assist with Preventive Maintenance program as required
  • Run open customer report for orders due to ship, print out Pick Ticket from ERP system and pull available items to ship
  • Practice proper truck operation and preventive maintenance
  • Coordinate all incoming logistics planning with suppliers, as applicable
  • Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
  • Ensure current MSDS for items purchased are on file at all times
  • May assist in training of Receivers on receiving into CIS and other databases, as required
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconciliations
  • Review Missing Parts report for received materials at-risk of causing interruptions to operations.
  • Coordinate with QA to resolve issues with materials on hold or quarantine needing resolution.
  • Support the gatekeeper area with the transfer of materials in and out of production.
  • Support inventory control clerk with closing batches.
  • Review tempering schedule to verify alignment with production needs

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be Forklift Certified. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be willing and able to drive to various locations. RF Scanner experience or knowledge preferred. Computer literacy a must (will use Oracle System).

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job assignment an individual must meet the required job specific training located in the Training Register.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read, communicate, and comprehend English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be able to recognize colors, shapes, and textures. Must be able to perform repetitive placement of products onto a conveyor belt. Employees must be able to work in a fast environment and still follow all safety policies and procedures.
