Position Details:

Kilgore College is a two-year, comprehensive public community college located in East Texas. With approximately 5,800 students, Kilgore College is an institution characterized by excellence in teaching and quality learning opportunities. This position is part of the teaching faculty within the Language Development department and reports to the Department Chair.

Responsibilities:

This is a part-time faculty position. Expectations for this position include teaching one or more English courses during daytime hours and could also include the following: teach in afternoons and/or evenings (non-peak times) and use instructional technology in the classroom. English faculty members teach and supervise all learning experiences and evaluate student performance in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:

A mastery of the English language, a commitment to excellence in teaching at the community college level, and a master’s degree or higher with a minimum of eighteen graduate hours in English are required. Preference will be given to applicants with college teaching experience.

Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:

• Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,800 per 3-hour course for a master's degree to $2,000 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.

Positions will remain open until filled. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
