The Club: Creighton Farms, a majestic 900-acre sanctuary situated between the quaint, historic towns of Middleburg and Leesburg in picturesque Northern Virginia horse country, with the idyllic Blue Ridge and Bull Run Mountains as its backdrop, is a private club committed to delivering the highest service levels to our members.

The Opportunity: We are adding an Assistant Events Coordinator to our team! This position reports to the Events and Experience Manager.

The Assistant Events Coordinator will also demonstrate the Southworth Values: Deliver Extraordinary, Build Community, Dare to Be Different, and Play to Win as they play an important role in Elevating the experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Events & Experience Manager with event planning and execution of assigned member events to include Golf, Tennis, Children, and Member-only events.
  • Assist in setting up, executing, and breaking down assigned private events, including meetings, luncheons, dinners, birthday celebrations, and golf outings.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders daily and ensure we have adequate staffing and supplies for each event.
  • Review and assist in creating assignments, event setup, and breakdown sheets.
  • Track event reservations and creates seating diagrams for events.
  • Maintains an inventory of all banquet equipment and keeps banquet areas organized.
  • Arranges for printing of menus, procuring of decorations, entertainment, and audio/visual if needed.
  • Must be present to oversee the actual service for each event.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Prior events experience preferred.
  • At least six months of food & beverage required.
  • At least one year of customer service experience is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • High attention to detail, exceptional client relations, organized, clear communication skills, creative, fun, team player, and energetic.
  • Have a positive attitude and is professional in nature with a high degree of creativity, strong work ethic, and organizational skills, and can handle a fast pace, high-volume atmosphere.
  • Must be available to work weekends, nights, early am shifts, and holidays.
  • Good understanding of proficiency might be asking too much in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and comfortable with computers and technology.
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Open to learning how to resolve problems/conflicts diplomatically and tactfully, I agree, but this might be something that we will have to teach.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, walk and stand.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Will be exposed to a full range of weather conditions from extreme hot to extreme cold

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
