Benefits Administrator

4 days in office, 1 day remote

Job Summary:

The Benefits Administrator will support the Benefits Team with day-to-day operations and administration for programs such as group health, dental, vision, short term disability, long term disability, HSA, flexible spending plans, life insurance, EAP, and various voluntary benefit plans. The Benefits Administrator will engage regularly with employees on benefit enrollment process, inquiries and other related matters. The role will collaborate with cross functional team members as well as external parties such as insurance carriers, vendors and benefits broker.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Assist Benefits Manager in the administration of all health and welfare benefits.

· Serve as point of contact for employees regarding the benefit enrollment process, inquiries and other benefit related matters, including dependent verification process.

· Responds to benefits issues, and answer benefits queries.

· Ensure benefit notices and documents for employees are up to date on Company intranet.

· Complete and process National Medical Support Notices.

· Assist Benefit Manager in completing benefits reporting requirements.

· Assist Leave of Absence Coordinator with short term disability, FMLA leave and other approved leaves of absence. Ensures accurate and timely sharing of leave information with payroll department to ensure that employees are properly paid.

· Responsible for ACA compliance and monitoring.

· Coordinate annual flu shot clinics for designated locations.

· Approve password resets for ADP users.

· Act as a backup to Benefits Manager.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to multitask and work independently with changing priorities.

· Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and priority setting skills.

· Strong communication skills including the tenacity to persistently follow up with employees, management and/or medical providers to obtain necessary information and documentation.

· Respect for and a commitment to the confidentiality requirements commensurate with having access to highly sensitive employee information.

· Working knowledge of MATHESON’s applicable policies and procedures, FMLA and state specific family and medical leaves.

· Willingness to work collaboratively with MATHESON’s Benefits Manager, Leave of Absence Coordinator, Human Resource Managers and Legal as needed.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Ability to learn and work with ADP Enterprise EV5 system and MATHESON’s benefits systems and vendors.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred, but not required.

· Four years of experience in Human Resources/Benefits required.

· Willingness to engage in ongoing learning as MATHESON’s policies and procedures and applicable law change.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

· No travel required.

· Frequent communication via phone utilizing handset and/or headset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
