JOB SUMMARY – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Our company is searching for a dynamic executive with an entrepreneurial spirit and visionary mindset who is well-experienced in the real estate arena to include operations, asset management, personnel management, real estate technology systems, reporting and property management. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing the company’s general operations with specific oversight of the company’s financials relating to property management. The Chief Financial Officer will have direct supervision of senior management staff. The Chief Financial Officer, under the guidance and in consultation with the Company President, will provide direct oversight and guidance to improve and excel operations. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Chief Financial Officer well-versed and experienced in housing development, construction, and property management, as well as governmental funding programs and financial reporting criteria. Candidates must reflect a strong operations background in multi-state housing and development initiatives reflecting the ability and experience to manage operations, monitor and improve all financial and physical aspects of properties’ overall performance, increased occupancy, resident satisfaction and property aesthetics. The Chief Financial Officer will ensure all regional properties throughout the multi-state area operate within the property budget guidelines and make appropriate financial recommendations for optimal financial performance and tenant satisfaction. The Chief Financial Officer position is housed in the corporate office located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Long-term strategic operational planning to increase profitability and operating performance
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to all legal requirements
  • Public Relations and management of community and governmental relations and contracts
  • Oversight and management of Affirmative Fair Housing marketing plans
  • Building strategic relationships with company clients, investors, management partnerships, bankers, and vendors
  • Collaborate with management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems and processes and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the company
  • Participate in the acquisition due diligence process, including involvement in the underwriting process
  • Work with private equity funds in connection with acquisitions and financing of real estate assets and institutional lenders that originate loans
  • Oversight of financial, audit and compliance departments and management team
  • Ensure compliance with governmental funding programs to include but not limited to: Tax Credit, Rural Development, HUD, H.O.M.E
  • Train, direct, and manage senior and departmental management team in the performance of their responsibilities, including coaching, development and performance review. Maintains staff morale and sets comprehensive goals for departmental performance and growth
  • Oversight of implementation and monitoring of performance-driven financial accounting systems
  • Oversight, preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports to include profit and loss statements
  • Special projects and assignments as requested

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • CPA, preferred
  • Masters in Accounting, required
  • Real Estate License, preferred
  • Property Management Experience, Housing Development, and Construction, 7 years minimum required, 15 years preferred
  • REAC / MOR, 5 years preferred
  • Chief Financial Officer and/or equivalent Senior Financial Management, 7 years minimum required, 15 years preferred
  • Experience in affordable housing consisting of LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, USDA/RD and H.O.M.E.
  • Experience with market-rate properties
  • Experience with mixed-use developments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
