Location: We are seeking a Cook for the Conference Center at Waltham Woods.
Principal Function:
The Cook will participate in preparing and executing a daily rotating menu that requires previous experience and knowledge. The Cook 1 will contribute to Sodexo Live’s! operational and financial success by following all culinary standards for sanitation and preparation while ensuring that the food product is of the highest quality in taste and appearance to satisfy guest expectations while maximizing food revenues.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate the execution of menus to ensure they are cooked in a timely, accurate, consistent manner utilizing proper recipes, equipment tools and utensils under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
- Contribute to the goal of 100% guest satisfaction through a commitment of teamwork and service.
- Comply with all established health, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Ability to work a variety of stations within the kitchen adhering to company standards for food quality, taste, flavor, and presentation
Qualifications/Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Able to interact verbally and listen attentively to co workers and supervisors
- Ability to follow written and oral direction
- Ability to work under pressure and independently
- Must be able to stand and exert fast paced mobility for entire shift
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs, definite availability needed for daytime Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
- Hours may be extended to include occasional evenings and Saturdays
Other Requirements:
- Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
