Food Service Technician/Cook (Part-time & Per Diem positions)

The overall functions of this position are to prepare and serve regular and special diets to residents and employees under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor.

• Food/Meal Preparation: this position follows recipes & production protocols in preparing daily meals for patients and employees. Strict adherence to nutritional requirements and healthcare plans are essential for patients. Ensures food presentation is pleasant and food temperatures are appropriate on food lines and storage areas. Uses appropriate food safety measures in preparation and serving of food.
• Clean Up & Maintenance: ensures dishes, dining area are properly sanitized, floors are swept and mopped daily. Follows department cleaning schedule.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence daily

Education: High school graduate or equivalency required. Trade or vocational school training preferred.

Experience: One (1) year experience in a health care facility preferred.

License/Certification: Food handler permit preferred. Must have valid driver's license.

Skills: Must be familiar with inventorying, cooking by recipes, quantity cooking and following written procedures. Food handling and sanitation.

Physical Requirements: Good physical health and good mental attitude is essential. Stands and walks most of the day. Handles and manipulates equipment. Stoops and reaches for equipment. Lift and carries food and kitchen equipment. Tastes and smells food to determine quality. Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
