Thomas Cuisine is hiring a Culinary Unit Coordinator for a senior community in Arlington Heights!

We will train you for this opportunity.

Starting at $16-$17 based on experience/hr.

Host Team

Host team members are the very first people residents, patients, visitors, and guests encounter, and set the stage for the Thomas Cuisine dining experience, providing a comfortable environment, and keeping every interaction warm and engaging. Whether serving, coordinating patient meal service, or cashiering, host team members are critical to delivering wholesome but imaginative food with genuine service. Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly menu to residents/patients on the assigned unit.
  • Obtain meal orders for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the following day by calling or visiting

residents/patients.

  • Provide a tally of all hot and cold food items needed to kitchen production based on orders taken.
  • Plate resident meals by following a physician prescribed diet, likes/dislikes, allergies, and/or meal

preferences as listed on the diet tickets.

  • Ensure resident/patient meals are within the proper temperature range before serving and proper

portions are used by following the approved menu spreadsheets.

  • Prepare the "always available" menu items as ordered by residents/patients.
  • Ensure unit pantry is properly stocked.
  • Maintain stock in unit pantry according to daily and tally checklist.
  • Ensure all food is properly stored.
  • Maintain the proper serving utensils on the floor to assure portion control.
  • All china and glasses are stocked to the proper amount daily.
  • All food and beverages are properly labeled and dated.
  • Clean assigned unit pantry and dining rooms following meal service ensuring proper chemical usage

per the SDS book.

  • Transport dirty dishes/trays to the pantry, scrape dirty dishes, wash dishes, and return clean dishes to

clean dish assigned area.

  • Wash all silverware and wrap for use at the following meal.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures/protocols at all times.
  • Practice hygienic, food handling techniques.
  • Practice good personal grooming; including proper handwashing.
  • Assist with all aspects of the meal service and kitchen staff on as needed basis.
  • Assist supervisor during operations, as neededRequirements:
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and write and communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate information to customers and other employees.
  • Work schedule may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
  • Fully Covid vaccinated
