Sheppard Mullin, an Amlaw 100 law firm, is looking for a third-year associate to join its privacy and cyber security compliance team in its Del Mar, CA office.

Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of data privacy and cyber-security counseling and compliance experience.
- Preferred candidates should have experience counselling clients on privacy compliance and responding to data security incidents.
- Candidates should have experience drafting terms and conditions and website privacy policies in a variety of industries including healthcare, tech, sports & entertainment, hospitality, and others.
- Exposure to corporate deal work is also beneficial, but not necessary.
- IAPP Certification (CIPP/US or CIPM) are beneficial but not required.
- The ability to work with other team members and clients, and take ownership of projects, is essential.
- Candidates should have strong academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must be barred to practice law in the state of California and local to San Diego or the greater Southern California area. We are not considering fully remote candidates for this role.
