SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant, Unlicensed to join our team. The Dental Assistant would work under the immediate supervision to peform work involving routine dental procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs the following job functions under the initial supervision of a licensed Dental Assistant:
• Reviews patient chart and prepares instruments and equipment
• Performs procedures such as mixing impression material, pouring models, preparing base plates, preparing acrylic trays, and bleaching trays
• Places rubber dam
• Charts patient treatment received
• Provides dental hygiene instruction
• Develops x-ray films
• Provides dental chair assistance during oral surgical procedures, operating suction equipment, arranging lighting, sponging operative area, and supplying instruments and materials
• Schedules patient appointments
• Cleans and maintains equipment and work area
• Prepares instruments for sterilization
• Applies topical mediations such as, but not limited to, topical fluoride, in appropriate dosages or quantities as prescribed by a dentist
• Performs related work as required, but only after appropriate training
  

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivilant

License/Certifications:

• Completed CPR certification course and maintain current CPR certification

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to perform specialized clinical tasks and procedures in alignment with HHS standards
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to effectively interview patients and collect information required to obtain medical history and to accurately register and/or schedule patients
• Ability to work cohesively and respectfully with a diverse work force and patient population
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and communicate with multidisciplinary team members
