Developer

We are hiring a Developer to work on cutting edge 3D model files. You will be joining our team to help support a dynamic and evolving project written in NodeJS and React. This is an open source project that supports data management and workflows for a variety of media assets including 2D images and 3D model files. As a member of the development team, you'll support full-stack development efforts on both the front- and back-end systems using React and Express. You will be capturing, curating, visualizing, and archiving 3D model files. This is a highly collaborative team working in a rapidly emerging marketplace.


What you get to do:

  • Build, orchestrate, and deploy web/data services and applications for the world’s largest museum and collection of rare artifacts.
  • Develop novel solutions and improve workflows used by leading researchers, scientists, and technicians through automation and clean processes.
  • Work closely with leadership and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver meaningful features.


What you bring:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience developing NodeJS and Typescript Applications writing code that is clean, portable, and well documented
  • Experience with relational databases, web-based APIs (REST, SOAP, RPC, etc.), and data modeling
  • Proficiency with fundamental ES6 syntax, structures, and practices
  • Professional experience with Git
    • Be able to use Git in a team environment and in public repositories
    • Debug and resolve common Git errors and conflicts
    • Maintain a clean working history
    • Familiarity with GitHub and pull requests a plus
  • Able and willing to obtain a Public Trust, which we help process for you prior to your 1st day of work


Bonus:

  • Proven experience working with performant enterprise or complex data solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SASS
  • Proficiency in Express, Prisma, and React (or similar frameworks)
  • Creating, configuring, and using Docker containers
  • Experience with generating documentation for end users
  • Professional experience working with a remote team (Agile, Task/Bug Tracking, etc.)
  • Experience working in Java or PHP
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling concepts and software (e.g. Blender, Photogrammetry, etc.)
